back to all doctors

Dr. Douglas Glod has been in private practice for over 20 years specializing in all aspects of foot and ankle care.  He is currently certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in both foot surgery and reconstructive rear foot and ankle surgery.  In addition to being the Chief of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Dr. Glod is the director of their Problem Foot Center and the residency director of their podiatric medical and surgical program.  He has lectured both nationally and internationally on various foot and ankle pathologies, authored several papers, and was a co-investigator with a Cooperative Interdisciplinary Podogeriatrics Program at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island.  Dr. Glod is also Clinical Assistant Professor at Brown Medical School.

Over the past 20 years Dr. Glod has further specialized in complex reconstructive foot and ankle surgery in addition to working with limb salvage in the diabetic and high risk patient population.  Using such techniques as ringed external fixation and the latest in technology with internal fixation and orthobiologics he has been able to pioneer techniques in limb salvage that few in Rhode Island or in the New England area have ventured.
